Privacy Policy
Effective 16 June 2026
The short version: DuplicoTrade runs entirely on your Mac. Your broker credentials and trading data never leave your device. The app sends us a small amount of anonymous usage data — never your trades or credentials — and the only personal data we hold is an email address, and only if you choose to give us one.
1. What we collect
We collect as little as possible.
- Email address — only if you join our launch notification list or contact us by email. This is the only personal data we actively collect.
- License record — when you buy a license, our payment processor handles the transaction, and we store a license record consisting of your email address and the license tier you bought. We never receive or store your payment card details.
- Anonymous usage data — the app reports a per-device identifier (not tied to your identity), the app version, your plan tier, and counts of how many connections, accounts, and groups you have set up. It contains no trading data or credentials. See section 3.
Apart from talking to your broker, the app's outbound connections are an occasional license check and the anonymous usage report described below. It never sends your broker credentials, positions, or trading data.
2. What the app does with your data
DuplicoTrade runs entirely on your Mac. Your broker access tokens and any credentials are stored in your Mac's Keychain — the system credential store managed by macOS — and are used only to communicate directly with your broker. They are never transmitted to us.
- Your trading data stays between your Mac and your broker.
- We operate no servers that process, store, or route your trades.
- License validation happens on your Mac. The app's non-broker calls are limited to an occasional license-revocation check (sending an anonymous license identifier), a check for app updates, and the anonymous usage report described in section 3. None of them include your trading data.
3. Usage analytics
To understand how the app is used and how it is performing, DuplicoTrade sends a small amount of anonymous usage data to our own backend. This consists of a per-device identifier, the app version, your plan tier, and counts of how many connections, accounts, and groups you have configured.
It never includes your broker credentials, positions, orders, trades, profit and loss, or any other personal data, and we do not use it to identify you or track you across other services. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the product; you can object by emailing support@duplico.trade.
Our website separately uses a third-party analytics provider to understand basic traffic patterns (pages visited, device type, approximate country). This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individuals.
4. How we use your email
If you joined our launch notification list, we will email you about the launch and occasional product news. If you are a customer, we may email you about important updates to the app or to these policies. We do not sell your email address or share it for marketing. You can unsubscribe from non-essential email at any time via the link in any message we send.
5. Third parties
We rely on a small number of third-party services to run the business. Each handles only the data needed for its role and is governed by its own privacy policy.
- Payment processor — handles your payment and the billing details you enter at checkout. We are the seller of record and never receive your card details.
- Hosting and backend provider — hosts our website and our licensing and usage backend, which stores your license record (email address and tier) and the anonymous usage data described in section 3.
- Email delivery provider — delivers transactional email, such as your license key.
- Mailing-list provider — manages our launch notification list, where your email is stored if you joined it.
- Website analytics provider — collects aggregated website usage data.
- Your broker (e.g. Tradovate, Rithmic) — your credentials and trading data are governed by your broker's privacy policy.
6. Data retention
We retain your email address for as long as you remain on our notification list or are an active customer. You may request deletion at any time by emailing us.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. If you are in a jurisdiction with statutory data-protection rights (such as the EU/EEA or UK), those rights apply. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
8. Children
DuplicoTrade is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
9. Changes to this policy
If we add or change a service that affects how data is handled, we will update this policy and revise the effective date above. If the change is material, we will notify customers by email.
